It's been quite a long time and so many things have happened since I last posted. Really bad and really good. I don't want to go into too much detail on the bad but my life was turned up side down and has recently has flipped again but for the good.

I found out I am pregnant with my first child and now I have more time on my hands since my partying lifestyle is now over lol. (BTW my doctor said it's fine that I paint my nails. Don't freak on me.)Since my cuticles are a joke right now and I have been breaking my nails on everything I touch lately I will not be showing any swatches today. Seriously I broke my nail on the side putting my shirt on. I chipped the corner of my thumb nail opening the refrigerator. I honestly thought these prenatal vitamins were doing wonders for my nails.

I haven't been completely out of the loop of the blogging world. I have been silently stalking all of my favorite pages and still buying nail polish like crazy....anyway I made a new layout. Decided to go further with my blog than just nail polish and venture into my love of makeup as well. Okay I will stop talking...I have a lot to review and post for you guys. I hope to hear from all of you soon!

It's such a beautiful brown shade with a hint of redness to it. I am in LOVE with the gold shimmer it lets off in the light. I am never really a fan of brown colors; this one just calls out to me.
This color is from the "Untamed Luxury" collection that released quite a few vampy colors. Jewel Of Girl looks very similar, however I don't have that color to show you. ...need to resist buying colors just to have them...
Despite the pictures. I have seen so many pictures online of this color and they all show up blue like mine.
Electronica is from Color Clubs "Dance To The Musique" Collection. This color stood out to me from this collection even though I is different from all of the swatches I had saw online. I like the purple even better. It's a deep purple shade with a blue type reflection, also packed with pink glitter. This shade doesn't dry and leave a rough surface like some glitters do.

I used one coat of OPI's Ridge Filler Basecoat and 2 coats of Electronica.

Here is a shady, and blurry shot, but you can kind of tell how its purple. I have been incredibly busy with work and trying to get myself set up to move out. I haven't been completely MIA..I have been quietly stalking out other pages I follow so I didn't just forget about the world of blogger haha.

I also closed my fingers in my car door last week and surprisingly I didn't break a nail. I guess the glass file is working? I do however have a giant bruise under my nail which you can see at the cuticle line no matter how I polish my nails. I will be stuck wearing dark colors for a while until this bruise goes away. It's alright though at least it's not summer.

On to the swatches! I was trying some new lighting, I'm hoping that my pictures have improved... Today I have on a dark (perfect!)polish from Color Clubs "Back To Boho" Fall 2011 Collection.

Below is 1 coat of OPI's Ridge Filler and 2 Coats of Nouveau Vintage.

Nouveau Vintage is a shimmery brown/green/reddish type polish that changes in the light. Gold flecks run through the whole thing. I'm finding it very hard to describe this unique shade. Although the bottle shows a real green color it shows up more brown and red. This polish dried super fast too.

I hope you all have been well. I am hating the snow we just got slammed with this weekend. I'm also stuck being home today with my work having no power :(..It's really sad that I would prefer to be at work right now.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7141798153440330124.post-80429170243415813992011-09-14T16:47:00.000-04:002011-11-02T19:16:46.969-04:00Color Club - Worth The Risque - ComparisonAfter doing my nails in Worth The Risque I was thinking that I had a few colors that may be comparable dupes.
You can see they do have their similarities. However in different lighting each one shows it's uniqueness.

With "Worth The Risque" you can see there is more of an apparent rainbow effect. On Milanis - HD it's less obvious that it's holographic than WTR, there seems to be more speckled or scattered holographic pieces of glitter. This also took 4 coats. Last is OPI- DS-Coronation, similar to HD but it has way more of a pay off, it looks as if it's packed with holo glitter and a scattered rainbow effect unlike WTR.
I'm liking Worth the Risque may more.

I'm very sorry I've been missing the past few days. I just got back from Boston with my boyfriend. We went up to see the Mighty Mighty Bosstones & Dropkick Murphys show at Fenway. This holographic polish is more grainy. The rainbow effect you see in it is more scattered where with true holographic polishes it's more apparent.
Still working on my lighting and camera settings. Thanks to all of the girls who left me all the great tips! I tried to show the beautiful color in different types of light and with a flash. I'm also going to do a comparison with the other 2 silver holographic polishes that I have.
Dark plum duo-chrome with green shimmer. This color is amazing. I really tried my best to capture what this color does in different lighting.
So I need to do something about my pictures. I feel like they don't capture very well on my camera. Definitely going to need some source of light come winter and the light is gone before I leave work. Any suggestions?
Sorry about my rambling on. What do you think of "Have You Seen My Limo?"...How would you feel about a layout change too?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7141798153440330124.post-78816830699188175732011-09-04T21:27:00.000-04:002011-11-02T19:16:46.975-04:00Sinful Colors - Rich In HeartI think I'm starting a little early for me anyway on the dark fall colors. I have been searching everywhere for this color. I finally stumbled upon the last bottle at a Rite Aid a couple of weeks ago. I've been dying to wear it.

Thinking Vampy? A blackened/dark burgundy base with red flecks. It applied wonderfully. 1 good coat but 2 just because. It dried super fast. I didn't wear a base or top coat, and it shows my ridges really well. I love it anyway.
I couldn't pass up Urban Decays clearance sale they were having a few weeks ago on their site. Everything was so cheap.
These are the polishes from the Apocalyptic Nail Kit. I got this kit with 7 Polishes for $8.00. Regular price was $30.00 I think. Maybe more. Good thing I never paid that because that is a rip off. I got these in the mail yesterday and sat there thinking.."really Urban Decay. How cheap are you people?" 5ml. Theses things are so small! I think I have more in my Benefit High Beam sample. Ugh!
Anyway... This is the real glitter of the collection, I feel. Waaay more glitter than Haunting had. It's a green base filled with green and yellow glitter.
A black polish filled with LOTS of silver sparkles. I can't get enough of this color. I love the way it applied. It wasn't gloppy or thick like I expected. I could have gotten away with one thick coat, I did 2 like always
The dark burgundy. Everything.
This just came out with the Metro Collection, and in my opinion the best color of this collection and one of the best colors China Glaze has come out with in a while. It's a dark burgundy base filled with green and orange glitter flecks. That polish is absolutely beautiful and Midtown Magic doesn't really compare to it in any way and Fortune Teller is still on the top of my wish list. I'm not saying that I've given up on my search for it but I kind of feel like I can relax a little on it now that I have this one. haha.

OPI-Teenage Dream is a multi-colored glitter packed in to a pinky/clear base. This color is very pretty on it's own, using multiple coats; making sure to let each coat dry before
applying another. This was released with the Katy Perry collection right when the big crackle fad started.
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear-Strobe Light is basically the same as Teenage Dream only MORE silver glitter and packed in a lighter pink, clearer base.
Both pictures are 3 coats, 1 coat of Seche Vite.

So you can see the difference of the two. Now check them both out over Color Clubs "Where's The Soiree?" Sorry the sun was gone and the flash really bounces off the glitter. I'll add another picture. I liked this combo so much I did all of my nails alternating each glitter.
How do you think these two compare?
I just ordered the new China Glaze Halloween colors, I can't wait for them to get here!!! but still I need to relax and enjoy the rest of the summer. Pretty soon it's going to be snowing and I officially hate snow and after last years snow I'm ready to move south.

Anyway....Clubbing Til Sunrise is a Burnt orange with shimmer with a nice metallic like finish. It does make me think of the sunrise :) it applied very easily and covered well with 3 coats, however it is not a very forgiving finish for those with ridges in their nails but only real visible under certain lighting. Below: No base, 3 coats, no top coat.

Again since I was thinking of Halloween I decided to try out some looks I might do in October. I tried 2 different black crackles. Which by the way seem pretty much the same other than formula goes, and white. I think I might try this alternating black and white.
What do you think of the crackle over Clubbing Til Sunrise?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7141798153440330124.post-90116894861874665782011-08-17T19:46:00.000-04:002011-11-02T19:16:46.990-04:00OPI - Done Out In Deco

My very first swatch post!!! Okay, I'll calm down. Please be kind..ie: My HORRIBLE pictures, lighting and even worse cuticles. Anyway this is OPI - Done Out In Deco. This is one of my favorite purples....Although nothing will ever beat my China Glaze - Spontaneous.....If anyone has any suggestions or comments on my photos please let me know. I tried to take them 3 different ways.

Done Out In Deco came out with the South Beach Collection in 2009. I only own 2 others from that collection, Clubbing Til Sunrise and Suzi & The Lifeguard.
This shade is a creamy pale lilac color, it dries darker on the nails than what you see in the bottle. It has a blueish tint to it dry. Definitely a go to color in the spring. I love this polish that it fixes itself after applying it, it's almost like it smooths out into a flawless opaque layer. It is strange how every swatch I have ever seen of this color never truly shows the color that I'm seeing on my nails right now. All pictures are 2 coats; no top coat.

I really hope that someone out there enjoys this, or even finds it helpful. I know that I search a million swatches of a color before I go and buy it.:) Thank you again if you came across my blog and took the time to read my posts. It's very appreciated.
I created this blog to have my tiny space in this huge world of beauty blogs to talk about my obsession with makeup and nail polish and share my photos and experiences through it all

It's also easier to keep track of all of my favorite blogs when I have one of my own. I really struggled with naming this blog. I love the name I have; however the actual address to my blog had to be different since some jerk created a blog 4 years ago, made one post and never touched it again. Now that means I can't have it!?! I'm hoping one day it will be mine. :)

Like there aren't enough blogs about nail polish and makeup out there I've decided to create my own, and hopefully someone out there will appreciate what I do; like I feel about other bloggers.

I plan on showing my swatches of all of my polishes, makeup and maybe some hauls. That is if my camera behaves and I have time between work and fun time to see the sunshine to take photographs.:)

I'm not sure what else to write here for my first post but would like to say (not in a bitchy way) that this is my blog and I am entitled to my own opinions and if you don't like it then you can go somewhere else.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com7
