M.I.A.

So i've decided to come back to my blog. It's been quite a long time and so many things have happened since I last posted. Really bad and really good. I don't want to go into too much detail on the bad but my life was turned up side down and has recently has flipped again but for the good.

I found out I am pregnant with my first child and now I have more time on my hands since my partying lifestyle is now over lol. (BTW my doctor said it's fine that I paint my nails. Don't freak on me.)Since my cuticles are a joke right now and I have been breaking my nails on everything I touch lately I will not be showing any swatches today. Seriously I broke my nail on the side putting my shirt on. I chipped the corner of my thumb nail opening the refrigerator. I honestly thought these prenatal vitamins were doing wonders for my nails.

I haven't been completely out of the loop of the blogging world. I have been silently stalking all of my favorite pages and still buying nail polish like crazy....anyway I made a new layout. Decided to go further with my blog than just nail polish and venture into my love of makeup as well. Okay I will stop talking...I have a lot to review and post for you guys. I hope to hear from all of you soon!

Color Club - Nothing But Truffle

Nothing But Truffle makes me drool. It's such a beautiful brown shade with a hint of redness to it. I am in LOVE with the gold shimmer it lets off in the light. I am never really a fan of brown colors; this one just calls out to me.

This color is from the "Untamed Luxury" collection that released quite a few vampy colors. Jewel Of Girl looks very similar, however I don't have that color to show you. ...need to resist buying colors just to have them...

Do you have this color?...What do you think of it?

Color Club - Electronica

Purple...This color is purple. Despite the pictures. I have seen so many pictures online of this color and they all show up blue like mine.

Electronica is from Color Clubs "Dance To The Musique" Collection. This color stood out to me from this collection even though I is different from all of the swatches I had saw online. I like the purple even better. It's a deep purple shade with a blue type reflection, also packed with pink glitter. This shade doesn't dry and leave a rough surface like some glitters do.

I used one coat of OPI's Ridge Filler Basecoat and 2 coats of Electronica.
Here is a shady, and blurry shot, but you can kind of tell how its purple. It also shows what the pink glitter looks like.

Color Club - Nouveau Vintage

First off I want to say I'm sorry for my lack of presence here on my blog. I have been incredibly busy with work and trying to get myself set up to move out. I haven't been completely MIA..I have been quietly stalking out other pages I follow so I didn't just forget about the world of blogger haha.

I also closed my fingers in my car door last week and surprisingly I didn't break a nail. I guess the glass file is working? I do however have a giant bruise under my nail which you can see at the cuticle line no matter how I polish my nails. I will be stuck wearing dark colors for a while until this bruise goes away. It's alright though at least it's not summer.

On to the swatches! I was trying some new lighting, I'm hoping that my pictures have improved... Today I have on a dark (perfect!)polish from Color Clubs "Back To Boho" Fall 2011 Collection.

Below is 1 coat of OPI's Ridge Filler and 2 Coats of Nouveau Vintage.

Nouveau Vintage is a shimmery brown/green/reddish type polish that changes in the light. Gold flecks run through the whole thing. I'm finding it very hard to describe this unique shade. Although the bottle shows a real green color it shows up more brown and red. This polish dried super fast too.

I hope you all have been well. I am hating the snow we just got slammed with this weekend. I'm also stuck being home today with my work having no power :(..It's really sad that I would prefer to be at work right now.

Color Club - Worth The Risque - Comparison

After doing my nails in Worth The Risque I was thinking that I had a few colors that may be comparable dupes.

You can see they do have their similarities. However in different lighting each one shows it's uniqueness.

With "Worth The Risque" you can see there is more of an apparent rainbow effect. On Milanis - HD it's less obvious that it's holographic than WTR, there seems to be more speckled or scattered holographic pieces of glitter. This also took 4 coats. Last is OPI- DS-Coronation, similar to HD but it has way more of a pay off, it looks as if it's packed with holo glitter and a scattered rainbow effect unlike WTR.
I'm liking Worth the Risque may more.

Does this seem like a good comparison? Helpful? Let me know :)

Color Club - Worth The Risque

Hello!!! I'm very sorry I've been missing the past few days. I just got back from Boston with my boyfriend. We went up to see the Mighty Mighty Bosstones & Dropkick Murphys show at Fenway. I need to move there ASAP!....Moving on...
This is one of the only Holographic polishes I have..and It's only semi holo. Nothing compared to my OPI DS-Signature or Coronation. I was never lucky enough to get anything from the China Glaze Kaleidoscope or OMG collections.
Throughout all of the swatches I've seen of China Glaze OMG, Worth The Risque does not compare. This holographic polish is more grainy. The rainbow effect you see in it is more scattered where with true holographic polishes it's more apparent.
The pictures are a little dull. Still working on my lighting and camera settings. Thanks to all of the girls who left me all the great tips! I tried to show the beautiful color in different types of light and with a flash. I'm also going to do a comparison with the other 2 silver holographic polishes that I have.
This is just a random picture from my trip to the New England Aquarium on Friday. Loved the penguins :)
